[FKL] Aura Kamikura - Live Microset @ Moritzbastei (HTML→MP3)
Music in Leipzig, Germany may conjure up thoughts of classical composers like Richard Wagner and Johann Sebastian Bach to those steeped in tradition, but what many may not know is that Leipzig has a burgeoning scene of electronic pioneers and innovators with a penchant for blistering analogue bass belches, decimated high hats, and industrial snare hits. Aura Kamikura, aka Janina Otto, and the Global Noise Movement, are amongst those leading the way. Aura has graced us with a micro-set from a Live session at Moritzbastei featuring tracks from Reformed Faction, Sonic Subjunkies, Mlada Fronta, Celluloid Mata, DJ Hidden, Ammo, Overcast, and 13th Hour. The set is organic yet logical and leads you though a journey of industrial, haunting, and sometimes, frightening intensity. I think the DJ and producer, explains her take on music best in her own words: I find it admirable that this scene is so wide: from techno to trance, from breakbeats to industrial and rhythmic noise. So I never can make a strict decision what to play. My sets differ from hard breaks, dark d`nb to industec, electro and rhythmic noise and also idm. Despite of this I would name everything which is produced with nous and sense as “intelligent dance music.” The Foundation presents: Aura Kamikura - break it hard like a mayflower -tracklisting- Reformed Faction - Fall angels fall - Klanggalerie Sonic Subjunkies – central industrial - Digital Hardcore Recordings Mlada Fronta – XB-33 - Flatline Recordings Celluloid Mata – Astro Girl - Noise Museum DJ Hidden – As she laughed - Ad Noiseam Ammo – No safe Place - Flatline Recordings Overcast – Loom - Bloody Fist Recordings 13th Hour – Possess - Division 13 Records

Our creature comforts are increasingly becoming more expensive, but they motivate us to stick to our routine, and gain what little credits we can, so we can apply them towards our vices and fantasies... Sundrop Sessions 17: Kaji Jutsu DJ Möet aka Pascal A Dupuy (HTML→MP3)
How fitting that the latest installment of Sundrop Sessions falls on September 11th... The warrior spirit in me bows in honor to those that have died for what they beleive in... There are few things in this world that have a long-standing impact in the universal scheme of things, thoughts, beliefs, values, and emotions can be transferred from person-to-person on a soul level. This month I'm finally able to share a concept that I've been exploring for seven years. I see our electronic music community as being comprised of many tribes, and the individuals of these tribes have a particulalry affinity for music that resonates with the vibration of their tribe, with each tribe and musical style having a correspondant element as follows: Drum N Bass - Fire Element Breakbeats - Water Element Trance/Progressive House - Air Element Funky/Deep/Chicago/San Francisco House - Earth Element This week's show is my interpretation of the shifting universal energies I feel at a soul level in Kaji Jutsu, Fire Style electronica, ala deep, dank, funky, mystifying, drum n bass..
