This month's downtempo podcast is the second installment of Datapusher's wildly popular "Dubventure." There was a huge response to the first episode and I am glad that Datapusher has decided to put together another mix for us. It is another hard-hitting, IDM/ Electronica, bass heavy, intelligent-glitch experiment in to the world below 130bpm's. When I asked Datapusher to explain what he was shooting for with this set, he... For tracklist and more visit http://chola.podomatic.com - Source Site:http://chola.podomatic.com

The Chola- Special Guest DJ Mix: Datapusher- Dubventure (HTML→MP3)

Datapusher from Trans:verse Records and NuBreaks.com has dialed down the typical tempo on his decks to bring the "Chill With The Chola" podcast an exclusive downtempo mix that he recorded live! As the title suggests, his set is an adventure in Dub, is beat driven, glitchy but intelligent, and bass HEAVY. This is something completely new for this podcast!
Meneo - 8bit Party Mix (MP3)

Not having listened to much Chiptune or 8bit tracks lately I had kinda written off the movement as a novel idea that dwindled. 4 years ago I was intrigued by making music using only 8bit Nintendo GameBoy sound effects - but the genre was kinda limited by purists who refused to mix the chiptune sound with any tech aided beat making. But now out of nowhere comes Meneo (out of Barcelona in reality) ! Dropping Gameboy reggaeton and lofi electro dancefloor killers - Meneo has been destroying the underground across Europe. These dudes get so loose they were banned in Sweden for on-stage nudity! (I thought the Swedes were some of the most open-minded on the nudie tip in all of the EU) Be on the look out for their "yo soy tu papi" cut (track 4) which is a future dancefloor anthem in the making (paging Armand van Helden - consider remixing this jammy!). note: some of the blends are not perfect with some minor beat doubling but check it out nonetheless for something you've probably never heard before. - Source Site:http://www.entter.com/meneo

Netlabel Ambient Mix (MP3)

I've gone on another binge of downloading music from netlabels. You know how the net is...one link leads you to another and then another and another and the next thing you know, you've download 10 free releases.

Free is obviously a huge attraction for most netlabel releases. With some of the recordings, it's a good thing they are free. It's not that they are bad, just that I probably won't come back to them again and again in the future. However, some releases are very good. Nest, released earlier this year on Serein is an excellent recording. Marsen Jules has two Autoplate releases, Yara & Lazy Sunday Funerals, which I highly recommend.

I haven't really had time to digest all the new music yet, but I thought I'd put together a quick mix using all netlabel albums that I've downloaded in the last couple of weeks. - Source Site:http://lowlightmixes.blogspot.com/

Modulus - Robot Ears Vol 2 - 320kbps with cue sheet (Other File Share Svc)

Fasten your seatbelts, turn out the lights, and turn on your Robot Ears. Folks this is non-stop futuristic mind bending funk. I can only describe it as an upfront collage of sinister tunes which seemlessly fuse electro house, proggy bassline house, and breaks. If you plan on getting a bit twisted, I guarantee this lil ditty of a mix will take you to the place where you want to go. Cheers.______________________________Tracklisting_________Don Diablo - Wet Smoke >> Red Hot Chili Peppers - Waiting for (Rene Amesz And Peter Gelderbloms Mix) >> R-Tem - Mood >> Madox - Plastic Fantastic (G-Dub) >> Dj Dan - Needle Damage (Chriss Ortega and Thomas Gold dub) >> Unknown - Because We (BassKleph mash) >> Unknown - Krusher >> Si Begg - Hard Like Funk >> Atari Era - Dirty Dirty Girl >> Chaim - It Never Ends (Tom Neville Remix) >> Rex -Alternate Reality (Introspective Remix) >> Felix - Don't You Want My Love (Peter Gelderblom Remix) >> Dub Pistols Feat.
