I first encountered a Spyhunter mixtape, as in tape cassette…, back in the mid 1990’s and even then he was pioneering the blend of styles such as trance, progressive and funky breaks, that is his signature today. At the time he was breaking in the Hawaii club scene and has since relocated to San Francisco where his modern day incarnation has incorporated more of the electro house movement.
