Otto - Lounge Sound Project Session 003 (MP3)

Otto has been dj’ing for over 20 years and delivering his unique blend of lounge and deep house beats for the past 9 years. Through various projects, including O&R Sessions and Jamjar Sessions, Otto has been generating exposure to lounge music through residencies, nights and events across the globe. Now living in London, 2008 saw Otto re-launch his Lounge on Thursday night at Bar Sia and hosted Raoul Belmans of Swirl People fame at Jamjar’s first event in London, “One Night with…”. As part of Jamjar he played on the Blissed and Twisted boat party hosted by Comfortably Numbed. He has also played at Zulu’s in Fulham,Watershed in Wimbledon, Gigalum in Clapham and Anam Bar in Islington. Lounge Sound Project is dedicated to providing Otto with a platform to showcase his lounge sets. His interpretation of lounge music is a blend of downtempo and midtempo styles that include trip hop, nujazz, nusoul, bossa and other world beats. Tracklisting: 1. Bushwick Summer - Yellowtail. Wow! This year has flown by. It seems like just yesterday that I was struggling to compile the "Best of 2007." As tough as that was, compiling the Best of 2008 was an even larger undertaking. I have such an emotional connection with so much of the music that I pick for this show, that going back through it all is almost like time traveling back to the feelings that I was experiencing that particular month. Focuz - Episode 003 (MP3)

It’s nearing the end of another month so here’s the November dosage. It’s varied mix of beats this time starting at the down-tempo end of the scale with a recent Flying Lotus remix and a new cut from King Midas Sound on Hyperdub (cheers to J for the tip-off on that one). Steadily cranking up the BPM through the 7 Samurai on German imprint, Poets Club and an older, but timeless jam by Boxcutter. I decided on a DnB rush for the finish line with a smooth number from top Californian beathead, Tyler Straub (many thanks for that, buddy. Keep up the good work!), an epic from Apex and to wind things up one of my favourite records of 2008 from London Elektricity. Hope y’all dig it
