Otto - Lounge Sound Project Session 003 (MP3)

Otto has been dj’ing for over 20 years and delivering his unique blend of lounge and deep house beats for the past 9 years. Through various projects, including O&R Sessions and Jamjar Sessions, Otto has been generating exposure to lounge music through residencies, nights and events across the globe. Now living in London, 2008 saw Otto re-launch his Lounge on Thursday night at Bar Sia and hosted Raoul Belmans of Swirl People fame at Jamjar’s first event in London, “One Night with…”. As part of Jamjar he played on the Blissed and Twisted boat party hosted by Comfortably Numbed. He has also played at Zulu’s in Fulham,Watershed in Wimbledon, Gigalum in Clapham and Anam Bar in Islington. Lounge Sound Project is dedicated to providing Otto with a platform to showcase his lounge sets. Helmut J. (aka Rob Raddish) is known mostly for his versatile flowing journeys into chunky, deep and driving progressive house and minimal/techno, and has established himself solidly in the truly underground jhb progressive & minimal ranks. Helmut has recently relocated to Cape Town, where he has had regular gigs at Killer Robot Friday nights at Fiction & Organica. Helmut is currently focusing on production, and accoustic and electric guitar. Residencies have included Shhhh… at Black Orchid, the Sideways Sessions, mntl, mntl Thursdays, Doctor Stone’s Sub Urban Underground and the monthly Brothers Underground parties at Roka Lounge. In September 2007, 8 dj’s were chosen (out of 250+ demos), to compete in the prestigious 2007 Gemini DJ Battle, and ranked in the top 3. In 2006 he started hosting the Sideways Sessions. The sole intention of these non-profit events to promote forward thinking music in Johannesburg & at the same time to have a platform for up ‘n coming dj’s who prefer to play forward thinking music. Special Guests have included Andrew Naude (Silly Sundays UK), Adam & Otto (Jamjar), Rudster(Silly Sundays UK), Brett Jackson (Soul Candi). A different charity organization is supported with each event, particular emphasis is however placed on animals in distress organizations.
