Most 'Internet DJ' mixes sound like the same song being played 10 times in a row...This guy really brings depth and variety to his mixes without losing focus. This mix isn't about the newest most exclusive club banger tracks that you'll forget about 6 months from now. It's not a bunch of played-out standards either. The tracklist challenges the listener without taking too many turns or confusing anyone. Remember when DJing was more than having Serato and a couple hours to download 'hot tracks?' Watch out for DJ Black Dominoes in 2008. His Vampire Weekend remix got NPR and BBC radio play amongst other places, and this mix is very promising.

Protokoll - No Men Mixtape (MP3)

Boston bred - San Diego based Protokoll had a stand out track ('Moving Forward') on the recent Scion/I heart comix remix CD. With their bauhaus inspired mood rock combined with a dancefloor friendly beat selection these boys look to be on the way up! They recently put this mixtape together which doesn't feature their own music but certainly serves as a good barometer of their own musical tastes (from Lisa Lisa & the Cult Jam to Throbbing Gristle). A great mix of party jams, mashups and more.

What is Dj Reset's problem? Hasn't he heard that mash-ups are over? I mean get with the times dude... pitchfork said they were over back around the Grey Album. But WAIT A MINUTE! This mix is fucking hot! How can I still be a card carrying Blog-bot yet still shake my ass to mash-ups? Oh no I am so conflicted! Is Romeo Void cool again or is it retro? Egads a Led Zep remix that doesn't suck!?! It might just be easiest to hate on everything - trouble is this mix is so chocked full of hot-ass remixes that Ive never heard it is gonna be tough to hate it all.
